I am having issues with my Rail King 0-8-0 not reversing through my Fastrack O42 switches.  When the switch is set to go straight the tender will go through fine but the locomotive will jump over the point and start heading down the diversion.  Going forward through them is fine.  I find this happens on all my O42 switches but not my O36 ones.   Any suggestions?

Is the switch configured as a turnout/siding?  I had this problem with my RK K4 and rectified it by adding a length of straight track before the turn out(I had it coming right off a curve...).  It was the 'S' curve that was getting me.  Oddly enough, my RK SD70ACE would  back through the same turnout without the addition all day long without issue.

The issue I have with Fastrack switches is the are very bumpy.  Very noisy, and a lot of engine sway when an engine goes through them.  Your engine, an 0-8-0, has all it's wheels together on one frame.  I can see that happening as clear as day.  Try shimming if it's practical.  Use card board of different thicknesses till it works.  But, keep in mind, it may never work.  It doesn't seem like a good match.  The Fastrack switch and an 0-8-0.  Fastrack switch too bumpy mon.
