It's been awhile since my last post. I'm active duty and for the longest time I've been running a small oval layout in the basement. As chance and a longer-term strategy would have it, I've built a barn! The upstairs I intend to finish and make the railroad space. I used a gentlemen on YouTube to design something that was originally going to go in my basement, but the Mrs's really liked the idea of one of these barn structures on the property for several reasons and one of them being my stuff is out of the basement in order to allow expansion for my kids as they get older. I'm reaching a point where I be able to realistic scenery and enjoy that part of the hobby at a relaxed pace. I do love running trains and I'd like some nice large curves for my BigBoy and I'm open to multi-level. I also love bridges! I just stink at designing. It's not my strength. A staging area would be nice, small town, perhaps a roundhouse over the stairs. I'm curious what you guys would do with a space like this? This is the dimensions in SCARM. He truly is a master designer and I'm considering using him again. He likes a prototypical layout. I'm ok with a hybrid to run more trains.
