IT's Te EAM TRACK TUESDAY!!!  Share your team track photos here!

Team tracks are a vital part of real railroading's day to day operations.  Found in remote rural locations, small towns, and large cites, team tracks are utilized by practically every kind of freight car, some passenger head end cars, and MOW equipment.

Last week's TTT was a real hoot as we celebrated Oktoberfest!  Lots of beer related posts!! This week it's back to the normal team track  kind of thing as a gondola is being loaded with scrap.  The last item to be loaded onto the gon is an old junk car.  Of course BIG HOOKER was called out to do the heavy lifting.  After the old junk car is loaded, a Patapsco and Back Rivers ( a Bethlehem Steel railroad ) Baldwin 1000 pulling a train of scrap loads, bound for the steel mill, slowly rambles by and comes to a a gradual stop, as the VO1000 will switch into the train the loaded scrap cars from the team track.

I created the junk load by using scrap parts from a junk pile on the layout.  Some of you may have seen it in various posts I've made  to other threads  and even this one.  I've never pointed it out in posts, however, it blends in quite well with the theme of that part of the layout.   I've been throwing scrap pieces in that pile for years and thought it time to create something with it.  Btw - the gear wheel is from a broken electric pencil sharpener which I painted/weathered appropriately.

Go ahead and share your railroad's team track photos.  We'd love to see them!

Have a wonderfully fun and creative week!!  See ya next week on the TEAM TRACK!!  IMG_7934IMG_7936IMG_7937IMG_7939IMG_7940IMG_7943IMG_7942IMG_7957IMG_7953IMG_7955IMG_7959IMG_7955IMG_7960IMG_7961IMG_7965IMG_7968IMG_7971IMG_7980IMG_7981IMG_7985IMG_7995IMG_7998IMG_8000IMG_8002IMG_8013IMG_8005IMG_8025IMG_8035IMG_8031IMG_8015

Great chorus of team track pics guys!!!  All interest provoking!

Mark - Thanks for the kind words about my scenes and authentic junk load! Your bulk transfer machine is terrific!!  I like the duct work support unit next to the boxcar door and of course the duct work too!! Did you make the machine?  What did you use for the grain load?

Tim - the 44 tonner looks fantastic!

Lee - very nice prototypical shot of grain ( ? ) being loaded rail to truck!!  Great team track inspiration for anyone who is modeling modern railroading

Brian - great pics as always!!  Lots of interesting team track ideas can be gleaned from those pics!

AZGARY-  nice gondola load of junk cars!!  Does that crane's electro magnet really work ??

Thanks to all who stopped by to take a gander of what's happening on the TEAM TRACK!   Have a wonderfully creative and fun week everyone!  See ya next week on TTT!!

Patrick, There are many weeks that the only times I log into the forum is Tuesday for TTT and Sat. for SWAT. I appreciate what you 2 fellows do!     That is just a common household magnet with a hook. It would not pickup the bigger parts without a little help.  The cars were Franklin Mint with parts missing bought for $2.00 each. Made great parts cars. I have the motor's in another location.100_4391

Thanks AZGARY!!

Hi Patrick. Its pretty amazing what you can do with some odds and ends. The loading scaffold was made with some styrene strips and the wheels are shirt buttons. the Acme 2000 is mostly made of cardstock with some window screen used for the vent mesh. the duct work is soda straws. I could have done a better job on those, but Tuesday waits for no one. The grain is some parakeet grit I got from Walmart's pet dept. if memory serves. All in all not a lot of expense but a load of fun (and a little whimsy I hope).
