IT's Te EAM TRACK TUESDAY!!! Share your team track photos here!
Team tracks are a vital part of real railroading's day to day operations. Found in remote rural locations, small towns, and large cites, team tracks are utilized by practically every kind of freight car, some passenger head end cars, and MOW equipment.
Last week's TTT was a real hoot as we celebrated Oktoberfest! Lots of beer related posts!! This week it's back to the normal team track kind of thing as a gondola is being loaded with scrap. The last item to be loaded onto the gon is an old junk car. Of course BIG HOOKER was called out to do the heavy lifting. After the old junk car is loaded, a Patapsco and Back Rivers ( a Bethlehem Steel railroad ) Baldwin 1000 pulling a train of scrap loads, bound for the steel mill, slowly rambles by and comes to a a gradual stop, as the VO1000 will switch into the train the loaded scrap cars from the team track.
I created the junk load by using scrap parts from a junk pile on the layout. Some of you may have seen it in various posts I've made to other threads and even this one. I've never pointed it out in posts, however, it blends in quite well with the theme of that part of the layout. I've been throwing scrap pieces in that pile for years and thought it time to create something with it. Btw - the gear wheel is from a broken electric pencil sharpener which I painted/weathered appropriately.
Go ahead and share your railroad's team track photos. We'd love to see them!
Have a wonderfully fun and creative week!! See ya next week on the TEAM TRACK!!
