IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!! Share photos of action on your railroad's team track (s) here!
Team tracks are a vital part of day to day real railroad operations. Team tracks are found in remote rural areas, small towns, and large cities. Most all types of freight cars can be on/off loaded on team tracks. Passenger head end equipment and MOW equipment can also utilize team tracks. A team track can be virtually used to for anything, in addition to loading and unloading freight cars, such as car storage, a repair in place ( RIP track ) , even for servicing locomotives on small short line roads.
This week on the Free State Junction Railway's team track one in Lower Patsburg, we have a Western Maryland boxcar of auto parts being unloaded. These parts are destined for the local Ford Parts distribution center whose spur is full. Since their spur has a full string of boxcars parked for unloading, this car was diverted to team track one.
Go right ahead and post action from your layout's team tracks. As always, everyone with a team track is welcome to participate. Those will a simple oval of track with an undesignated spur or siding to those with highly detailed museum quality layouts are welcome to post photos. Photos of real railroad team tracks operations are also welcome.
See ya next week on the TEAM TRACK!! Have a wonderfully fun and creative week!!
