Hi all,

Have just purchased an Ives clockwork electric outline engine 30 (in salmon red). Thing is, it looks massive and out of proportion when coupled with four wheeled rolling stock from "the Ives Railway Lines".

Had thought it would be nice to run stock from the same manufacturer, as is my habit with other manufacturers.

The same rolling stock (mainly 5 series), looks perfect behind my Ives 3200, while the 30 seems to have a proportion more like my 1694.

I run strictly for fun, both clockwork and electric.

Any and all opinions most welcome.

Thank you both for the replies.

Great pics. Thank you for taking time out to do this. Interesting the #30 has fours pieces of rolling to the #31's three pieces, yet the #31 has more rolling resistance due to the double bogies. However the #30 has more weight to pull. Maybe it shows how perfectly the clockwork mechanism is balanced to the load.

And you are so right Ace, part of the fun it is. Think I'll relax and enjoy the train ride.
