January 2018 Amherst Train Show in Springfield MA

I'm not sure what is around Springfield, but if you can't find what you want in the immediate area, Bradley Airport area north of Hartford has all the hotel chains. It's about 20 miles south of the Big E Fairgrounds in West Springfield where the train meet is held. All highway driving so an easy drive in the morning. There is a Marriott Courtyard on Day Hill Rd in Windsor, CT and a Marriott right across the street. I can't recall what is closer to the airport, but I know there is a Hampton Inn in Windsor Locks and another in Enfield which is right next to the MA border.

If you get off exit 5 of the mass pike  Chiccopee has quite a few hotels along memorial drive and its only about 10 mins. away from the fair grounds

Whoo hoo! I have arrived! Eating at Bertucci's. It looks like a lot of fair attendies are eating dinner here tonight!

First time there and all I can say is I got dizzy! Lionel Niagara looks super and they said they will fix the 21 inch passenger cars truck body gap in the new ones-have to say their display wasn't as good as MTH--picked up 3 new lionel cars and an atlas steam era classic car for half price--impressed with the Mianne benchwork stuff Z stuff and ross

Mega crowded! Picked up a few things. Way  too much American Flyer for my taste this year.    And as always a lot of HO and N

I finally got to meet the muffin man himself. Unfortunately I didn't get to walk away empty handed.... I purchased the MTH Railking PRR H-10-44 w/PS3!
