I was in Cheyenne last spring, and the Big Boy was there, but tucked away in the steam shop. The auxiliary tender was parked out in the yard in front of the closed workshop, but standing on the over-head vehicle bridge and looking down into the yard was something else.

I found it interesting that Ed confirmed that the two engines synced their exhaust while running! Go to the 11:45m to 12:25m section of the program.

Same thing happened with 3985 and 1218. That seems to be what simple articulated steam locomotives did, when they were in good repair, i.e. all driver diameters the same.
