You must not have been reading the Forum lately. There have been quite few threads talking all about this over the past month. Search the topic and you'll get all the information about it. JD's is closed (Jeff got a new job and no longer has the time), and Petersen Supply has taken over all JD's inventory and orders.

There was some information from someone on the forum a while back that made it sound like those ATSF reefers were already in stock at JD's. Obviously incorrect. It seemed doubtful in that there was no mention of them whatsoever at the website, not at Special Runs or anywhere else. Be curious to know if those are in the pipeline, or if they weren't far enough along to get made.

Jeff had got those reefers in before April York. I have a set, why he never did anything with them is beyond our imagination. He had a whole pallet of those custom run reefers sitting in his shop.

My Dad and I both got a 4 car set from Jeff, the rest are out there SOMEWHERE!

Cut Jeff some slack here. While he was in business, I was satisfied with his honesty and service. OK, his dream of a hobby shop failed and he looked elsewhere to feed his family. He took over Bob from AM Hobbies and Bob would not have sold to him if he Jeff was not reputable. Working on a 10-20% margin in not a way to get rich. Many bodies on the side of the tracks. Atlas sent out an email notification a few weeks back confirming JD Trains was in fact closing and that Andy (Peterson Supply) was taking all of the JD Trains pre orders. Meaning if you ordered from JD Trains your order will be filled and shipped by Andy (Peterson Supply)

If I can find the email, I will post it.

Does anyone know if they were produced?

Thanks.

Jeff had to cancel that special run when Atlas pushed back the delivery date and was talking about a possible price increase, when Atlas finally ran the SD-40s I got a pair of CSXs from him, although Atlas had stated directional lighting in the unpowered units that did not happen they claimed the builder wanted too much to include that feature, to this day their motive power production is still behind schedule.
