Joe's house was a group effort to build. Rail Scale models did the CAD drawings and Laser cutting. We were lucky to have the original drawings for the building of the house. Matt L did the CAD drawings of the lanterns. Rusty Stumps did the 3d printing. This is an HO house but I am excited how it turned out and hope you will forgive me for posting HO. When I get more pictures I will add plantings to the edge of the base. You might notice one chimney is crooked and there is a gap between the 2nd floor and first floor. The 2nd floor lifts off for access to the first floor. These will be corrected after the lights are added.

Stu, You deserve to be excited about how it turned out! It looks fantastic!!!
Is Joe's train room over the garage?
Very nice modeling ! Excellent use of modern tech -
In any scale, that is a first rate model!
OMG, Stu. That model is wonderful. Congratulations on your success with the project.
And I wish you great continued success at the TCA Meet @York. Let us know how well you have done, if you please.

I guess I'm missing something. Can I ask a silly question? So, who is Joe?

Joe is who I made the house for. It will be going on his layout.
Thanks. Very nicely done.

Joe has one mighty nice house and soon he's going to have one mighty nice model of his mighty nice house.
STU,
An example of true modeling skill and ability. Do you know how many hours it took to build the model?

Melgar,
My build time for the model is around 80 hours. This does not include the CAD drawing and laser cutting time and materials.
HO or not that is amazing!! Looks 100% real.
Stu that's outstanding!!!
Wow, fantastic. Great job.
That pool and hot tub alone costs more than the house!

Frank, I have been debating when to stop going to York and as of now this was my last show. I did talk to a few friends, past clients and possible new ones but with a longer drive and higher costs it just doesn't seem worth it. I am now also getting most of my work from other sources not connected with York. There were a lot of empty tables so if i did decide to get a table it shouldn't be a problem. Over the 18 years of doing the show it was a great source of showing my work. I am still building and will post any special builds on the forum. I may go to a future show, no table, with my Wife to visit friends then take a few days to see all of the attractions I never had the time to see.
Hi Stu, My experience touches upon yours at some points, concerning being finished with displaying at the TCA Meet @York.
So many of my clients and customers would contact me previous to the Meets that by showing them what I had prepared for upcoming dates and finding the work to their liking, my having e-mailed them pictures, they would consistently buy-up what I had ready as an inventory. That is, I usually took 40 - 43 "Insta-Ramas" as each Meet's inventory. However, after the contacts and my replies, and my being able to ship without any damage whatsoever via UPS, or hand deliver the scenes I had prepared, I would have, resultingly, a max of 3 Insta-Ramas remaining as an inventory for York (!) So, with nearly everything having been sold ahead of each Meet ( a blessing, I realize,) I simply stopped making the trek to York and investing all that personal time and effort traveling.
Plus, significant personal changes have occurred which have completely intervened and changed my life, even of who I am, which cancelled any thought of my ever being present at "my spot" in the Orange Hall, again. I have faced the fact that our lives change, and that we are smart if we accept that and adjust accordingly.
But it sure was fun - totally enjoyable - each time I was present at York, as well as well worth the effort and investment of my creative-self.
With much respect for you and with my very best wishes and regard for your well-being and prosperity,
FrankM

Stu and Frank, I can understand what both of you are saying. If it doesn’t pay dividends anymore for whatever reasons you can’t go
Stu, that's a terrific job! I too am using both Rail Scale and Rusty Stumps for new work. It's a winning combination. With laser and 3D you live and die by who is doing the drawings. The building is easy….heh…heh…!
Stu,
excellent work!
It is a beautiful piece of work. We'll miss you at York!
Fantastic!
