Joe's Trains is new Marx, but it isn't Ameritrains. as far as i know, Joe only released 8 Marx 3/16" scale (O gauge) cars, 4 boxcars and 4 stock cars. they were all metal and very well made, but i haven't heard about anything new from Joe in years. i hope someone else will supply more detailed information; i'm kind of curious what happened to Joe.
cheers...gary
After he acquired the Marx Trains/Ameritrains tooling, Joe Bender, with help from John Fox and probably others, got in contact with the Flynn's. The Flynn's told him who they had used for the lithography which led to uncovering unpaid for litho sheets at the litho shop. Joe bought those sheets from the litho house. They consisted of the total run of the series 4 boxcars that had never been produced, a lot of orange WP boxcar sheets with all 4 road numbers and some sheets of the D&RGW boxcars. Those are all I am aware of. From these sheets, you could get a boxcar or stock car with your choice of couplers and under frame trusses if desired. Always thought the trusses were kind o dumb because these are somewhat modern cars designs. The series 4 cars were an orange Illinois Central, a brown MKT and a black and a wine Norfolk Western. One of the Norfolk Western cars was originally intended to be the dealer special, so much less of the litho sheets were run. I got all the series 4 cars as a boxcar and a stock car, as well as the D&RGW and all four WP cars done as stock cars.
Other than the adjustable trestles, that is all I know of that he produced.
