They're a fun little vehicle, I upgraded this one with ERR Cruise and Railsounds.
Before he moved to Springfield, MO about five years ago, my son regularly drove Goose No. 3 at Knotts in So Cal. It’s a very fun vehicle in 1:1 gauge as well. 
Probably wouldn't even need an engineer's license to drive one of those, just a driver's license! 
No doubt it has a diesel engine!
I believe they have gasoline engines. The first couple were made from Buicks, later ones like the models we show were made from Pierce Arrows.
Pierce due to the distinctive headlights embedded in the front fenders.
Yes, the MTH Gallopin' Goose was the Pierce Arrow based geese.
Very cool .i lije the station announcements too...Telluride is mentioned!
This is my favorite with its sounds, color and head lights. It does however, 
run a perilous route on my layout.
