The Jersey Central scheme doesn't seem that bad to me, and would have been historically plausible.   It would need something to break up the red around the ends though, but not so much that it ends up looking like a coast guard cutter.

I added white stripes to either side and increased the bottom white stripe by 2 pixels. I really like how this came out!

A GG1 in the black and yellow scheme of "The 48 Club." You already have stylish passenger cars, now you need an engine to pull them. I would think that this version needs to be a semi-scale engine.

It took me a couple of days to come up with all of these but here they are....

My preference is for the upper left one, simple, clean looks. My second would be #3 on the left.

Why don’t railroads, in the US, paint their loks like those in some European countries? Some Euro loks have advertising for various things, products, travel locations, etc.

That's not paint, it's a wrap.  Basically a big decal.  Commuter agencies apply them to some of their equipment.

Metra 1.  Metra 2.  Metra 3.

Most European locomotives have slab sides allowing for relatively easy applications.  Trying to apply wraps (which are less expensive than painting) over hood units with all their handles and hinges would be very difficult and probably wouldn't last long as units are serviced.
