I have two Pennsy K-4s PSd, one "control" unit 30-1115-1 #1361, one a slave 30-1115-0 #3761 (both #s hand-written on box), all wired and synched. Works great. In the Product Locator there is a listing for the 1115-1 but not for the  slave 30-1115-0. Is this simply a non-cataloged unit or what? Also, what is the proper name for the 30-115-1?

PSd, I think, stands for ProtoSound which this engine (30-1115-1) has since it was cataloged in 1997.  However, entering 30-1115-0 into the MTH inventory search function returns no results.  Plus, I don't think I've ever heard of a 'slave' steam engine.  If it truly is a 'slave' in that it must be run with the 'master' steam engine, then it has to be somebody's home-brew electronic system.

I wish you well with it.

It is not a slave, it has the DCRU and whistle.  Now, funny enough, the DCRU is the slave board in PS-1 diesels and it can be controlled from the logic of the PS-1 board via 3 wires.  So someone could have made it operate in a slave mode to the PS-1 in the lead tender.  Would take a tether between boards.  I guess running through engine, or if tail to tail easy enough into the trail tender.

Otherwise it is the Basic reverse unit with whistle -0 vice PS-1 -1.  G
