Odd. Factory TMCC GG1. I tried a new R2LC 08 radio board and also a new shielded power supply. It will not program with set. I traced the program switch all the way thru the mother board to the R2LC and the program pin does get grounded when in program. Also in program, the engine will make sounds when addressed with the old ID #, but will not run. So the program switch is getting to the R2LC fine. The original R2LC is an 06 if that makes a difference.
All TMCC functions work perfectly, sounds, run, backup, lights, etc...just won't reprogram. Any experience with this?
OK...FIXED!
I got to thinking that the only engine I was trying to SET was the GG1. So I picked up another CAB2 and it SET perfectly! This CAB2 has just come back from Lionel from being not able to turn on. But before I wrote a "Talk To Us" boomerang repair email to Lionel, I tried the errant CAB2 again and this time pressed the SET button hard. And it worked. So there you have it...blamed the engine and it was the controller.
