K-Line Alco Coupler Parts?

Is it a plastic coupler or metal? Don

I have some plastic couplers I got from Brasseurs a year or so ago. They come with long shafts and short. What kind is yours. Keep in mind they are very hard to install. Don

eBay has been my choice recently.  I buy otherwise distressed K-Line diesels just for the parts when the getting is good and cheap. 

I don't have any Alco couplers, I am in need of one myself.  I haven't had time, but I'm trying to come up with a solution using Lionel parts.

I'm assuming long. They're 7/8" from pivot point to the point where the knuckle "shoulders" spread out.  Since I've obviously never disassembled them yet, what's so difficult about the job? Is it just a job for 3-4 hands, or something else?

I've thought about that as well; guess I'm too impatient, cuz every K-Line Alco I see on there is $100+!

Carl, the long couplers are 2 inches from mounting hole to end of couplers. The short ones are about one inch and a half from the same points. Don

Er, ah, um,....yeah, that's the story. They're the short ones 1.5" pivot to end of coupler.
