Looking for information on what this K Line B Unit would have inside.....or is it simply a full dummy.

It is a dummy. It does have lights inside
There is a matching set of AAs offered on eBay.

These were offered in 2002 and the B unit may have been produced later. I have the NP AA set from 2001 (no smoke) plus the B unit that does have smoke. Also the PRR ABBA from 2005 and all units have smoke. Difficult to ascertain which has what!

It is hard to know sometimes with old K Line because they had so many variations.
Wonder why they went to the effort just to put a light in a B unit......

Soo line, would you want to sell your B unit?
The early K-Line F-series B-units had two motors each, just like the A-units. An A-B-A set had six motors, really too much power - I know a guy that got rid of his K-Line WP A-B-A F-set because he had only 4 Madison cars to follow, and the engines moved at low power like there was nothing behind them. He could not apply enough power to blow the horn because the engines would then go too fast to stay on the track!
Once they changed to TMCC/RS in the A units, they moved the smoke feature to the B-unit, perhaps for space, and perhaps also because an A-A combo with four motors already had plenty of power.
I have one set of A-B-As and two sets of A-As. I never run the B unit unless I run it as a A-B set. I just don't need that much power. As I recall the later A-A set had an add on unpowered B unit but they are very hard to find. Love to find a Milwaukee unpowered B. Don
