Do all K-Line diesel engines  have their motors in their trucks ? Also does anybody know when the B&O F3 s were made? They sure are a different kind of engine to me. Don't know yet what to think of them to the jury is still out. another question these are totally different to me and I was wondering can you had command control with cruise control to these puppies?

Charlie,  I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in here too but no, many of the K-Line diesels have the more familiar vertical can motor drive similar to the other companies.

Some of the K-Line offerings came with Lionel's TMCC and sound. K-Line even developed their own cruise control system in later years. ALmost any can motored engine can be upgraded with command - either MTH PS2 or the TMCC based systems.

The first run of F units in 1996 - 1997 had horizontally mounted motors in their trucks. These would include the C&O (from the collector club), B&O, & D&RGW. Shortly after, the F units and other scale diesels received vertically mounted can motors.

I think the small Alco's, MP15's, and S2's stayed with the horizontal set-up.

I am not sure if the B&O was ever done with the vertical motors.
