K-Line TCA mp-15

From the K-line collectors guide:

"K-2222 Train Collector's Association #2

Produced in 88 for the Train Collector's Association National convention. The #2 on the cab side indicates the engine leads the second TCA train."

The serial number was used for a time on regular production, but K-Line switched to another method of qualifying warranties. (exactly what that was escapes me)

The tag you are referring to was used on all engines produced at the Chapel Hill factory.

Once production moved overseas the use of these tags ended.

The first TCA branded engine was Alco 2107 (power and dummy) made in 1987.

The alco is pictured on page 32, and the MP-15 on page 26 of the guide.

The move to overseas production took place during the 2nd 1/2 of 1991.
