I recently aquired a K-Line mp-15 with TCA markings, and was hoping someone could answer some questions about it. It has a tag stuck to the bottom with a number on it that matches the one on the box, it also states removal of tag voids warranty. Was this tag used on all production at that time or just on the TCA item? The road number is 2 on this unit, was there a 1 also? If so what brand/type was it? The USA logo has dots and numbers beside them. I assume those are dates for TCA divisions? What year was this offered?  Thank you.  Brad j.

The tag you are referring to was used on all engines produced at the Chapel Hill factory.

Once production moved overseas the use of these tags ended.

The first TCA branded engine was Alco 2107 (power and dummy) made in 1987.

The alco is pictured on page 32, and the MP-15 on page 26 of the guide.

The move to overseas production took place during the 2nd 1/2 of 1991.
