Did you try a Google search? It, the "dark green", is referred to as "Brunswick Green".
The Diesel Shop Webpage reports the color to be Brunswick Green, which is of course 50 gallons of black with a pint of yellow thinking about being poured in.

Here's a photo taken on the LIRR when they were buying cars from several rail roads. Quite weathered compared to above photo. Looked black to me at the time.
