Hi Guys,

I know that a lot of you guys would like to encourage young people to develop an interest in this hobby. The Kiwanis Club does this through sponsoring golf outings and camps in the summer. I would like to know if MTH or Lionel has in the past done a boxcar honoring their commitment to society and the youth of this nation. If not wouldn't this be a good idea for some talented artists to run with?

Just saying!

The Lions Club in Minersville, Pa., recently offered an annual series of nice freight cars by Weaver. Each featured a present or past local business from that area. Some remain available.

You can see them on this "custom run cars" link.... scroll down to "Minersville Lions Club," & you will see links to photos of each available car.

Charlienassau,

I am a member of the North Shore Kiwanis Club of Staten Island . I have been a member since 2009. If it's been already thought of by you why don't you float the idea past the "International" (if you need somebody to second the motion, I am available) and see what they think?

As it's already been thought of for the Lions Club perhaps we could generate a little club competition?

MTH also did some cars for the Minersville Lions Club, for the Relay for Life campaign. These cars can be very hard to find now.
