Well I am making slow progress on my first scenery project.   Just finished this Korber flat.  Now I have two buildings under my belt.  Some questions this pictures raises

1.  What is the best way to attach the flat.  Just leaning for now.   Think I would like place it on .25 inchplywood whereby I can detail around it then set it in place.  One day pick it up and move it should I ever need to

2.  Need something to cover my wall- want a stone wall look

3. Still need to finish tunnels

4.  Best way to weAther the building

5. Any comments/suggestions are welcome

Weather the building with some Pastel chalks and Dullcote. One thing to consider is to add some depth to your building flat, I have done a few by adding a 1" side wall and roof top giving the building front something to stand on.  As for your wall I'd recommend Pennsy block walls which you can get at scenic express. The walls in my picture were made by a friend of plaster which I chose to give a brown finish and weathered with pastels and chalk. hope this helps

You can glue magnets to the back of the structure. Then screw a thin metal strip to the wall. Velcro may work as well. That way you can remove the flat and work at your bench if you decide to add details or signage. I didn't follow the practice for lack of thought in laying out my track. To close to the wall. You should add some depth to the .structure as Steve mentions. Then your able to add some rooftop details. Lot's of detail items out there. Lights over the loading doors.A lot can be found at www.modeltechstudios.com.  Will turn a simple structure into a highly detailed one.

Artist  supply stores - not Michaels, or A C Moore. Need to go to true artist supply store. You should find a great selection of colors. The store I patronize has several sizes. I have found the thin chalks to not be very good. Go for the thicker chalks.
