Well the Chicago Police Cars aren't of the correct era.  These are one generation later than the ones in the movie.  But they work!  I opened them up and put an officer in each and dual strobes on top.  I also added a little detail to the outside in the way of aged hub caps and license plates.

The Blues Mobile was opened up and Jake and Elwood were added!  Its the Corgi model.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses....

Hit it!

To make this scene really true to the movie, half those police cars need to be upside down!

Speaking to the Animal House scene, I saw a post a while back with some fraternity guys on someone's layout (someone hand painted greek letters on their sweaters!) and I know i've seen a model "deathmobile" before.  Maybe my next layout will have a fraternity house as a tribute to my college years

Aaannd you just had to get a bit of your ARR equipment in the pick to make me jealous lol.

Oh I know and I'm getting it!

As for doing an Animal House scene... I use to have a 1:18 scale "Death Mobile" but it think its buried up in the attic.  A miniature version would definately make my layout barring the pricing being too high!  Thats what I love about the American Truckster, it'll be around the $17 mark which is perfect!  I want an Ecto 1 but anything over $50 is just hard to justify as that is a nice railcar!

You could have way too much fun with that . . .

Looks great! The green light models look like they will be good, now says available in November.

Im going to put the blues brothers on my layout. The prison at the start of the movie is in Joliet which is the theme of my layout. I have already built one of the prison towers which needs more work.

Yeah if you got the Greenlight models of the actual Dodge cars used in the movie it would be really cool!  They have them, but I got a good deal on these from a forum member in the For Sale section and just used them to do the scene.

I was gonna put Carrie Fisher in Honest... I ran out of gas! I--I had a flat tire! I didn't have enough money for cab fare! My tux didn't come back from the cleaners! An old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!!!

True. I met Booker T. Jones a while back and he was pretty shaken up by Duck Dunn's death. Some of the talent from the sequel is gone, too -- Wilson Pickett, Billy Preston, Junior Wells, Clarence Clemons, Bo Diddley, Lou Rawls, Grover Washington Jr., Isaac Hayes...

We have lost a lot of great stars the last few years. Lots of them I have been watching and listening to for many, many years, since we were all young, me and them. Kind of like losing folks you have grown up with. Many left way too soon.

Thanks for that.  Very interesting.  With all the mannequins, merchandise, ("The new Oldsmobiles are in early this year"!)signs, etc. that I remember seeing in the movie, the producers must have spent quite a bit to spiff it up.  (Nowhere near as much as they must have on cop cars, of course).
