The powers that be in my layout town have decided the town needed new street lighting. The old Plasticville postwar era lighting just didn't fit with the tinplate flair the town has been seeking. As usual, they were tight for funds, so instead of buying factory made lights that actually worked, they asked the railroad shop crew to build them some. After a long time of design and redesign the crew settle on a traditional green post that towers majestically over the streets, yet is more compact than most store-bought tinplate lights.
The components are 1" wooden wheels, small wooden craft spools, 3/16" dowel and 1/2" pearl beads.
