I just typed in the passcode as text and it worked.

Okay. Thank you.
Hi Everyone,
I just picked up a new Comcast Gateway because my current one kept losing the internet connection every hour. I had been using my separate Linksys router since I started this thread a long time ago because my LCS Wi-Fi module would not connect to it. I decided to try to connect my LCS Wi-Fi module to my new Comcast Gateway and it connected on the first try. Whoo! Time to pack up my Linksys router.

Harvy,
Did you try the new app that Lionel released? I tried it with a Router I am almost sure that at one time I connected using the "Network" option and then later on it would not connect. the new app worked like a charm to connect up my Asus AR3100 Router.

Yes, I tried it, but it never worked for me.
Oh well. Easy come, easy go. The LCS Wi-FI module will not connect to my new Comcast Gateway today.
I will get back to you on this later today.

Hi Leandro,
I think you are my first customer from South America. Nice to virtually meet you.
The problem you are having is that eTrain Command Mobile was designed and built way before the Lionel LCS Wi-Fi module came out. Therefore, at that time, there was only one way to be able to get a mobile device to control your Lionel trains. That way is to use Wi-Fi from your phone to connect to your wireless router, which is then connected to computer that is running eTrain Command Console (Windows application), then connecting your computer to any Lionel command base unit. So what I am saying is that you must have my Windows application in order to use the mobile app. The mobile app will not connect directly to the LCS Wi-Fi module. However, the Windows app will. It is all explained in the description for the mobile app in the Google Play Store.
You can read more about the Windows application and purchase it on ebay by clicking on the links in my signature below.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi, Harvy ! Nice to meet to !
I was excited to buy because It was to Android and I not read the description in Play Store.(no problem)
So eTrain Command Console by windows is connect directly in LCS Wifi module ? Because today it not is connected in my Internet router (it's necessary)!
When I buy in Ebay I will received the software by email?
Thanks !
Yes. eTrain Command Console running on a Windows computer that is connected to the same LAN as your phone, will send commands from your phone to your computer and then to the LCS Wi-Fi module. All three devices must be on the same network.
If you purchase the software on ebay, you will receive it by email. If your ISP does not let it go through (which is common), I will then invite you to a Dropbox folder where you can download it.
Thank you.

Harvy, thank you !
My first steps will be:
- I will put my LCS module in house's network and I 'm will test the connections with my Ipad;
- If all right I will buy etrain console software !
I will get back to you on this later today.
Thanks !
Sounds like a good idea. Let me know if you ned help.

Hi Harvy !
I got to put LCS in my network house and operation it's ok by Ipad!
So in few days I will buy your software !
Thanks
Okay.
Thank you.
Okay, great!

Any luck with the lcs wifi? I just bought a new one because it would flicker out of wifi, the chain icon in the layout app would go green and red several times a minute. Im going to send it back unless there is a work around. I guess the app is worthless now....
3 years later, new LCS Wifi unit just received today - it does not want to connect to my Ubiquiti Access points. (AP Network is 2.4ghz only). The gainspan module used seems to be quite crappy, really wish an ethernet port would have been available (to connect to the development switch just 2 feet away!)
On the brightside, my Wifi nic on my dev PC is unused, so I can leave the module in AP mode and just direct access it that way
I had to resort to the LcsWiFiMonitorLE to get mine connected to my router. That allows me to keep Internet connectivity while using devices to connect to the Legacy. Also, my desktop can connect to the Legacy system using the LSU and I can edit engines, routes, switches, etc. at my leisure from desktop.
Here's a link to my post with the install files for the monitor.
Wow! I can't believe this thread is still going. The LcsWiFiMonitorLE software never helped me get connected. I gave up on it years ago and never looked back. I have always used a separate switch. I think I was the one who started this thread.

I just checked and I did start it. Unfortunately I have much bigger problems to deal with these days.

Yep I'm working on the gargantuan task of building out a REST API-exposed system of controls to bridge the MTH/Legacy remote gap, so I stumbled across this thread troubleshooting.
And yeah the only useful thing for the LCS Monitor software is spying on the serial commands as they bounce around. That wifi connector only likes to tell me the large number of connect errors from when I flip it into Join network mode

What can I say, you're a sample of one.
I got connected in a flash once I had the monitor software and could configure for my router's SSID and password. The WPS was the stumbling block for most people, it didn't seem to work for many routers. I helped a few people get their WiFi connected once the monitor was released.
It's way more convenient to have the LSU connected to my computer, editing on a full screen is way better than spinning the knob for hours on the CAB2 to configure locomotives!

Works like a champ here...

Yep I suspect it's an issue with multiple AP's. Not going to dig too deep in to it since I have my fallback, just a minor annoyance
Will the base 3 use the LCS and LSU or is it using its own software?
The Base3 has Wi-Fi built-in. It will still use other LCS modules, but not the Wi-Fi module.
Well, it's certainly going to have it's own software base. As to what, if any, similarity to the existing WiFi capability or compatibly with the tools like the WiFi monitor, that's clearly a case for someone like @Dave Olson, if anyone can answer the question, he can.
