LCT 2800 Series cars not going around O31

A friend of mine that doesn't do the internet is have a problem with a new LCT set with 2800 series cars with box couplers not going around O31 Realtrax curves. Any one else having this problem?

I have run many many different MTH 2800's on 0-31 with no issues. What exactly is the problem? Is the solenoid plunger behind the box coupler plate? If not, this could be the problem.
