My Lionel #38 Water Tower #6-24224 has a leak. I have taken it apart (a few times) and it looks like the water is leaking near the motor shaft. When i take it apart the motor itself is wet.
Has anyone seen this and what could be causing it? Can this be fixed?

If I remember correctly (I took mine apart a while ago, but now the motor is shot and I need a new one), the rubber O ring wore out on mine, to the point where even if the motor ran, it would flood. They just seem to wear out, nothing you can do.
Which reminds me, I still need to order a new one...thanks for the reminder.
I don't think I saw any o rings (which might explain the leaking 8-( Where exactly are they located?
If I remember correctly, basically everything that went through plastic has some sort of O ring or gasket. Again, this was a while ago, so don't quote me.
Heres the parts list, it shows an o-ring but I don't know if that will fix your leak. I had a friend with one of these that started leaking if my memory serves me correct he replaced the pump motor.
