I have a dozen Lionel 6-12804 street lamps, and I want to convert them to LED. I have heard that there is a replacement bulb to do this, but cant find a part number, or where to get them. Can anyone provide me with this information?
Yes, many sources. I would suggest just google Lionel LED replacement bulbs. You'll find a whole bunch of places, Plus some advertisers here can fix you up.
Its not that simple, these bulbs have two wires that are about foot long since they run inside the post. I have googled, and searched a few other places.
Here’s what I have done. I used 2 sets of 3 leds from an led strip and soldered 18” of 28 awg pigtails on them. I used the 12 vdc that I have for all my buildings and lights. They are much brighter than the original ones. I realize it is not plug and play, but the result is great.
That looks pretty good. I have used strips similar to that to light up some buildings. I just swear that I have seen a direct replacement bulb but in LED for those exact lamp post. Thanks for the info, if I cant find them, I may have to do like you did.
