I picked up a roll of the let strip lights.  This ones has 300 lamps on it.  My question is there are 4 copper tabs on the end.  The ones marked 12v and Grd are used for the input and it works fine.

I am wondering what the other 2 copper taps are for.  They are marked G and B.

Thanks,

Ed

My guess is they are probably for the multi color LEDs. They are able to change color depending on what kind of voltage they get on the different connections. With the remote system you can change them to an infinite amount of colors from red to blue. I suspect the factory has the strips made up to use for either LED and in your case they are only warm white.

They may be a universal strip which can mount multi colored LEDs. That does not mean this type LED is on the strip. Many single colored LEDs have 4 pin leads but the leads on those are redundant. Kind of like the dashboards of cars which are all the same for a model, but there are vacant holes with covers to allow for an option that was not purchased.

John,

It took a little over 3 weeks which is unusually long even for China.  However I placed the order just before the big Chinese holiday that goes for a whole week.  So not much gets done before the holiday and there is a big backlog after the holiday.  For other electrical items I've ordered from China, the wait for delivery is about 2 weeks.  I actually had one that got delivered in 6 days.  I usually look to see if it can be had here but the price difference is usually too much to ignore especially after factoring shipping.

I hope that can change someday soon.
