Moved to the proper Lionel forum by the moderators....

Haven't had a chance to operate mine yet (just received this week) as we're recovering from this terrible storm and dealing with a lot of unusual issues. Consider that very few homes in these mountain towns have ever been flooded and hence haven't carried flood insurance. The losses are staggering. Many people deceased or still missing. Am sure you've seen the news by now. I have two friends who each have a terrific layout in their homes but with the difficulties we're facing it is doubtful we will be able to test her out this week.

Other than the debate about the color or shade of gray, (I didn't like it at first but it has begun to grow on me) if I remember correctly everyone was mostly united in giving them praises for operation and features. What are your thoughts now after some time of ownership? Any caveats, suggestions, or cautions?

Thank you ahead of time for your time and comments.

Wishing you all a recovery from this terrible disaster, and that the missing turn up well and alive.

As for the Dreyfuss, mine is mostly for display and I liked it then and now.  Color doesn't bother me one way or the other.  Just an expensive toy train .  Operates very nicely using Bluetooth/Universal Remote/Conventional.  Sounds are, as usual, very impressive.  Haven't tried TMCC/Legacy yet. Hope you enjoy yours as time and events permit.

The color doesn’t bother me. But the striping on the tender not matching the passenger cars does and that’s a big issue on $3,500 worth of trains. I would love to just be able to buy a tender shell that matches the passenger cars… or explore custom paint if there’s anyone who could do it.
