I would like to trigger two crossing gates, a gateman and a crossing gate signal with a 135IR.   Past threads indicate the IR is limited to 1-2 amps requiring a secondary 12 volt relay to power multiple accessories.  Does this application require a single pole double throw 12 Volt AC relay rather than the more common 12 volt dc automotive relays.  Would someone kindly suggest a particular relay that can be mounted under the layout and has a wiring harness.

If you want to use a 12VDC relay, the 153IR's NO and ACC GND outputs would need to be rectified to DC to be able to control the coil inputs of a 12VDC relay.

I'm not aware of an off the shelf wiring harness that would do exactly what you want.  If you decide you want an AC relay, here is a link to one that has screw terminal connections and could be mounted under the layout.  It's a DPDT, but you don't have to use the second set of contacts if you don't need them.
