Legacy Power Master and Cab2 (993 Expansion)

No, that was the old TMCC CAB1 and the original PowerMaster.  The CAB2 only talks to the Legacy base.

That is the original PowerMaster, it directly receive commands from a Cab-1 Remote. The Legacy PowerMasters receive their commands from the 455KHz track signal that only a base can provide.

Dam...figured that was too good to be true.  Guess I have a paper weight for a year while I wait on the Base3.

I have a follow up question on the above. Since I was able to just buy this new 993 set but I don't have a base2 or obviously base3, is there any way to test the remote to make sure it works? Just thinking that if lionel has limited parts to fix these now I'd like to try to test it and get it fixed if for some reason it doesn't work. I'm not sure how long this was on the shelf at the hobby shop I found it in. It was sealed in the box new when I got it.

The only way to test it is to find someone with the Legacy command system and test it there.  There is no other device that talks to the CAB2.
