I would like to use two Legacy Power Masters with my Lionel post war ZW transformer. I'll use Outputs A and D for two districts and have a PM connected to each. What wattage setting do I select on each PM for my ZW for proper operation?
A PW ZW can put out a maximum of about 190 watts. This can be distributed among the four outputs, or all 190 watts out one output. Because of this, I'd recommend the Legacy PMs be set to 180 watts. If you set the Legacy PMs to 135 watts, depending on what you are running, you could trip the PMs CB if you go over 135 watts (7.5 amps).
Thanks CAPPILOT. I was leaning that way but I wasn't sure if they would respond properly on the 135W setting. I will place each PM switch in the 180W position. I didn't think about the current draw by multiple locos running, and the possible breaker trips.
