This is the Christmas train I usually hid in a tunnel, behind the back ground, to chug out for the kids.  The green gondola will have Christmas Candy in it.

The Santa and reindeers are from an old Hallmark Cards Santa sled display set sold several years ago.  A new sled was made from balsa wood as the original was too wide.  Rudolph had a flashing red light added to his nose and pickup was made

I took this as I was testing my Christmas track setup.  I am still in the process of decorating.  I will post additional pics once I am done.

The engine is a new addition.  A RailKing First Responders SD70ACE.  I chose this engine and caboose instead of another Christmas engine so I could use it all year around.  I think it goes well with the Christmas themed train.

Christmas Train

The Grandchildren will be up for a visit so I do need some trains for them to run.

This year, for the first time,  I'm putting the Frosty, Silver Bells and Santa Express on all at once and letting them practice with a remote and learn or:

crash and burn.

I just feel more comfortable that way. lol.

I posted in the other forum on the subject of under the Christmas tree, but this forum is probably more appropriate!

I bought a $10.00 child's toy train at Wal Mart to set up in my office.  What started with a simple train grew into this layout.  I made the rock outcropping using scraps of foam board.  This little project has been quite fun and I don't believe I'm entirely done yet.
