WesternPacific2217: That's a LionMaster BB on the long bridge.
@Modelrailroader posted:Hi, that's exactly what I need. Can you show a closeup of how you got the rails to line up each time? Thanks! Robert
Hi Robert, I don't know if you were talking to me or not. But here is the crude way I made it work.
I just made some wood guides and the copper strips you see were cut from an old brass door kick made as my contacts to power the track when the bridge is down. If you were asking someone else I am sorry I was confused.

Hi Stangtrain, I thought so, I have one that looks just like it! Mine is a Legacy #4006 from the 2008 catalog. They are great looking models for semi scale! My model, even though it's Legacy, doesn't have the smoke at idle feature, so I added a Super Chuffer II programmed for Legacy locomotives. With the upgrade I also replaced the incandescent headlight with an LED and the SC II features Rule 17, so the headlight dims at idle and then goes full bright as soon as you twist the throttle. Very nice upgrade, now it's a true Legacy. :-) Here's a quick video of the smoke and headlight feature:

LOL..Well the Grandson Loves it and only he is is allowed to run the bridge when he is here (im told) its nice I like it
Snkbitten, sent you a PM. Please let me know if you got it, thanks.

My lift up bridges were based on Mike g.'s design. I made my contacts and centering device about as crude as Mike's. Snkbittin, your Grandson was onto something. Our younger daughter videoed, my bridges in operation and showed it to her husband and his friend. His friend raved about it when he saw me, and I understand he has been telling other people. I keep telling them, I got the idea and coaching from a friend. They are most impressed.

Mark I saw your bridges when I was looking at what I was going to do .. very cool
I just tried to make it simple and strong ..and metal lol
it is pretty cool and it’s more gadgets for him to mess with
I think yours is excellent! I always like simple. I’m not good at working with wood, but even worse with metal.

Thank you.. I’m a fabricator so metal is where it’s at for me

BTW, that is one really fine job you did. Thanks for sharing it.
Been awhile! Saw some recent likes and figured I’d post follow up pics for you
