Is the new Lionel Lion Chief Plus steamer a scale engine ? I have not seen any specs for this engine. Thank you

I believe all Lion Chief+ items are semi-scale as are the Lion Chief items.
These are the specs from Lionel..........
I like the speed control..........
LionChief™ Plus, an exciting and innovative twist in classic Lionel locomotives
Use the LionChief™ Remote, for long distance control, great sounds, and operating multiple locomotives at the same time. Or flip switch and operate LionChief™ Plus locomotive from your current conventional transformer.

Given its size, I bet it will look scale if it's not. Looking really forward to these.
The RS-3s look good too.
Do the Lion Chief steamers sound the same as Legacy steamers with railsounds, or will it be a let-down?
The spec listed above has these engines as AC or DC. Has anyone run them on DC? Is it smoother than on AC?
Al
When they were first announced I checked the catalog that had the Legacy Camelbacks in it but were cancelled and not produced. They were the same length height and width as the Legacy engines that were cancelled.

Each generation of LionChief Plus is looking more towards scale and away from the toy train look. Check out the photo from the Lionel Web Page. I think in 2016, LionChief Plus will be even more scale looking in design details and sounds.

I can honestly see Lionel giving the scale 2-8-0 Consolidation the LionChief+ treatment.
If that's the case, this might be my first LC+ engine (it might have been anyway, scale or not). They are very nice looking engines and I have been admiring them since the catalog came out. I don't have any steamers, but I might have to make an exception here. Maybe a tourist line?
I think a number the smaller engines may appear in scale sizes for LC+.
This is like some of MTH Railking engines, the smaller switchers and stuff like the Camelback are scale sized, just not as detailed as the Premier versions.
Maybe there will be a possibility of a Lionchief 4-4-2 Atlantic?
