I'm running Lion Chief trains using Lion Chief terminal track throughout my layout. I have my Legacy steam engine coming in this week, and I was wondering if I can wire my Legacy Base 1L to my track using the Lion Chief terminal track. I have some fast track terminal track that I can use for the Legacy Base 1L system. Will this work? I took a picture of the Lion Chief terminal track to show what the wires look like underneath the track. Can I use one fast track terminal track to connect to the Legacy and that will work with the Lion Chief wiring? I don't know too much about the wiring , don't want to wire it and cause a short or damage a engine. Does anyone know what I'm trying to do makes any sense?

Since you now have Lion Chief only, what are you using for power? Operating Legacy engines on DC will damage them, they must be run on AC power only. Lionel warns against the use of DC in the beginning of the engine manuals. You will need something other than the Lion Chief power supplies which are DC.
I see no reason the terminal track can not be used to connect your cab1L/Base1L as long as you can connect the signal wire to your outside rails for the command signals.
For power I'm using a 180 w powerhouse connected to my Lion Chief terminal track.
Doesn't get much better than that. Those are great sources of power with excellent breakers, that's what I use too.
Keep in mind when you use CAB1-L/BASE1-L the engine receives the signal through the ground rails as apposed to LC+ getting the signal directly from the remote.
The LC terminal track is just Fastrack with a power jack, it's no problem at all to use it.
Hi John, one follow up question to the LC terminal track. I'm going to wait for the MTH DCS Explorer to come out to run on my track. I have my terminal track 8 feet apart (16 x 5 feet length) for power running throughout the whole track. I've tested the track and no power loss anywhere. Do you think there be any problem for the DCS signal?
On a loop that size, there certainly shouldn't be an issue, but I don't offer any warranty that you won't have issues.
Yea, you never know with DCS. Check back with you in the fall, whenever the DCS Explorer comes out.
