Does anyone know the description, part number for the Remote Control that is used with the Lionel 14065 Nuclear Reactor and where one might purchase it? Again, thanks for your attention and replies. Much appreciated!

I have the reactor and I do not remember it coming with any remote but I could be wrong. Have you tried plugging in the 14065 number into the Lionel website on manuals. sometimes they list part numbers for Lamps and other replaceable items.

Mine has a wired controller. Maybe that is what he is referring to.
Unfortunately the part is not listed anymore on lionels website and the manual listed is incomplete.
The remote is listed . It is a modified o gauge operating track controller. One of the push buttons is replaced by a on/off switch.
Thank you for your information.
Looking at the wiring diagram for an SC-2, I believe you could use two toggle switches. One a SPST for On/Off and a second one, a SPDT momentary, center off switch to control it. Ground would be like the "hot" post 2 and posts 1 and 3 on either end. Mount them in a small project box or on a panel.
The attached document from Lionel explains the color coding or post identification to wire it.
Excerpt from SC-2 wiring in the manual:
"The post labeled 1 is for loading. The post labeled 2 is the common (ground) post. The post labeled 3 is for unloading. For more information regarding the use of the SC-2, please refer to your SC-2 Switch and Accessory Guide (672-2980-250)."

No problem. Search the forum for threads on the fuel pellet car modifications and other topics on this cool accessory.
This one looks nice from DigiKey. The flat edge would be nice on the fingers for load and unload. it's small. could use a small box.
let us know how you solve it.

To All of You...many thanks for the informative replies. So helpful and much appreciated!
I ordered the remote to the Operating Tugboat with smoke....it's exactly the same, an on/off switch and a button. It wired easily.... use the universal ground on the reactor and ignore the white wire... the tugboat remote has 4 wires, the nuke 3. Check eBay under Lionel controllers for the same configuration: on off switch and the unload or activation button.
