If you check out the attached video, can someone tell me if it is working properly. The green light is on with the blade vertical , but when the train crosses the contactor the blade goes horizontal but the light goes out?

If you are powering it from the track, the light should stay on continuously. Only the position of the arm changes. There is only one light bulb in the #151 and a red and green lens. I suggest you recheck your wiring.

Are you using a 153C contactor? The light should be powered all the time, the solenoid when activated by the train passing over the contactor or an insulated track section. The light and solenoid share a common ground.
Jon:
Yes, from his video that contactor looks like a #153C.
Pat: you can use a #153C with your #151 Semaphore but the preferred contactor is a #145C contactor. Attached is a scan of the instructions for using a 151 with a 145C.
However if you don’t have a #145C, you can use the #153C. Follow those same instructions but only use terminals #2 and #3 on the #153C.
Hope this helps,

Light shoud stay on all the time during layout operation. Check the wiring on u tube and recommend insulated track to control the semophore.
I see said the blind man. Using the 145 contractor looks like the way to go.
To respond to Bill Makel, the light Seems to go off when the blade goes horizontal
let me retire that and I can take another video to see the results.
Thanks to all for advice
Pat,
I don't see an email in your profile. I have an oil derrick to sell. My email is in my profile.
