What are everyone's predictions for the volume 2 catalog? Any new releases or just rereleases of previous models? Personally if they rerelease any models I hope they rerelease the Allegheny.

There has been a thread going here with hopes and dreams for 2021 Volume 2 here. Most likely that catalog has been set for some time but it's always fun to speculate.
This topic is not a 3-rail scale discussion. I moved it to a Lionel category which is more appropriate.
Personally, I don't understand why people start talking about the NEXT catalog when the ink has barely dried on the most recent one. lol
A chessie sd70ace or es44 to go with my b&o sd70ace. Also a run of NW2 lc+ with b&o and Maryland and Pennsylvania available (assuming the price is similar to the last run). CSX Bright future 6axle diesels would also be welcome. I’d also like to see a scale caboose in a North Pole central livery, a brewery (bonus points for natty bo), & new Christmas light houses/buildings (their design for the lighting of the deluxe Christmas house was great). Not really predictions, but this list would empty my wallet.

Boredom, there is only one manufacturer that is still releasing catalogs
i hope they rerelease the phantom for lionchief plus 2.0 as a dual motor engine and a set. they haven't done a phantom in almost ten years
although more than likely the new lionchief plus 2.0 diesel is gonna be a gp20 or gp38 or alco set which would still make me happy

I get it, but consider it one of the many "great truths" of the OGR Forum. Like endless threads about TVS devices and circuit breakers, best way to clean track, the steam engine restoration deniers, and guessing the next Menards product.
After all, the talk about the "next York" starts before people have pulled out of the parking lot.

Wasn't there a Batman set recently that used the Phantom engine?
I noticed they have Legacy SW1200s in this volume. When I go to Lionels website the description states they have whistle steam? The catalog does not state this. Im wondering which is correct. This happend when I preordered my Camelback from volume 1 and Lionels website stated they had blow down steam. I called Lionel and they stated that it was an error and corrected the description on their website immediately. I'm thinking this is the same situation but I havent contacted them.

Gotta be clip-and-pastitis. Why would an SW1200 have whistle steam? EMD SW's have airhorns and no steam generating capability.
Rusty
Did anyone receive the second catalog yet?
Yes. Local stores have them.
I'm fairly new at hobby railroading. I've stuck to Lionel. After looking over some locomotives, I've wondered something. I saw an older LionChief Plus locomotive (LIONEL 6-84964 ANGELA TROTTA HUDSON LIONCHIEF PLUS) that had synchronized smoke with the chuff but then the new Lionchief Plus 2.0 don't seem to have that. It seems to be limited mostly to Legacy units. I like the O Gauge as opposed to scale because they're smaller. Any idea if or why that changed?
I believe the LionChief Plus 2.0 locos have all the features of the former LionChief Plus locos with the addition of being controlled by TMCC/Legacy. Features may vary from loco to loco, but LC + 2.0 is an enhanced version of LC + in all cases.
Not to get off subject but to answer Aaron G. All LC+ and LC+ 2.0 steamers have synchronized chuffing smoke. You may be looking at the description of the LC+ 2.0 0-6-0t switcher which looks like a steam engine but is a diesal so it does not have chuffing smoke.
Brad
I have the Disney Berkshire and maybe it does and I'll have to look, but it didn't seem to me to have the synced smoke. But maybe it is because it pushes out so much smoke I didn't notice. Anyways, the Hudson I was looking at from LionChief Plus era had videos where the chuffing smoke was really obvious. I want to stick to LionChief Plus 2.0 in future purchases (because the smaller size fits my christmas layout)
The LC+ steam engines have I believe 2 chuffs per revolution and the LC+ 2.0s have 4 chuffs per revolution. That may be why you do not notice the smoke being syncronized with the chuffs unless you are at slow speeds.

Wait. What?!?!
Jon
Sorry, was going by the description where it stated it had deisel sounds. Seemed odd.

I believe there is a long list of applicants, myself included, for that nonexistent position.

Ahhh...ok, now this is making more sense. That and the elimination of the verbiage from the catalog.

Yes, I've seen the chart. Nowhere on the chart does it talk about synced smoke. It just says "fan-driven"
