Lionel 212/213 A units wheels r HOT

Remove the rollers and clean them out with some solvent and a pipe cleaner. Spread the arms of the pick-up assembly and clean the roller axle pins also. Hot rollers are a good sign they are dirty/oily inside. If the wheels are getting hot, I'm not sure but to clean them, Usually it is the rollers that get hot, not the actual running wheels.

Heat is usually a sign of a bad electrical connection. If the wheels are getting hot, clean them with naphtha (lighter fluid), and lightly oil the axle bearings. Make sure the tracks are clean also. Remove any rust from the wheels and track if applicable. As suggested, clean the pickup rollers also.
