I bought a SantaFe Super Chief set a few years back (6-31742). The horn never really worked well but it just wasn't worth sending it back and forth to Lionel.
I'd like to see if there is something I can do to fix it. It sounds the same in conventional or TMCC mode. The horn sounds almost like it is not getting enough power. Sometimes it sounds real muffled and then it will start sounding better, although it never sounds loud or powerful.
I was hoping someone could give me some tips of things to check. I know the sounds in these sets are not the greatest but there is definitely something going on with the horn that I am hoping I can fix. Could it be a bad speaker ?
