I'm including two sidings on my layout. I want them to each be separately switchable so I can park unused engines on them. Will a 364C switch handle the electrical load necessary to run the engines?
Unless you want to remain Period Correct, by using a Lionel 364C, any SPDT will work as a replacement. The 364C is just that, a SPDT slide switch, that can be locked into either On or Off, like a normal toggle switch. Yes, it will handle what you want.
I've used a 1 x 12 as a "dashboard" for all of my controls. Since the board is 3/4" thick it's easier to surface mount the switch and just carry the wires through. And I kind of like the clunky looking old switches. l was mainly concerned with the switch handling the voltage without frying itself. Thanks for the input it is greatly appreciated.
