I recently bought a Lionel 675 engine, there's no paint on it at all, but instead of a 2-6-2 wheel configuration it has a 4-6-2, does anyone have any information on this engine, sorry don't have any pic's yet, but some one said it might be a prototype. will take some pics and post asap.

Some years ago, there was a fellow at York, in the Purple Hall, who had turned a number of Prairies 2-6-2, either 2025 or 675 into K-4s. He modified the casting of the steam chest that had the lead truck attached and he was able to put a four wheel lead truck on. He had to modify the drive rods, as well. I think he used the wheel sets that were used on the so called "Baby Hudsons". The locos were for sale and the prices were steep. Lionel, in their literature, called 2025 and 675 "K-4s", even though the wheel arrangement was wrong. Some of the modified engines were completely finished and others were unpainted . He sold them with the catalog tenders (6466WX). You may have one of them. If so, enjoy!
