can anyone tell me how the bubble tube is held in the holder over the lamp. mine is real loose and will not sit up straight. is there a gasket or something that goes between the holder and the tube? the manual says to use electrical tape to hold it steady. sounds pretty rickety to me!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks

scotch tape worked great. now for the big ????

what is the tube supposed to do? I assume it is like the xmas bubble lights and bubble away. mine does nada. just sits there looking like a tube full of lighted colored water. is there a necessary voltage level required or is it possible a dud tube?

as usual the lionel manual says nothing to help.

Does anyone knows where can I get a new replacement bubble tube.? Mine came broken and can't find a new one. I've tried Lionel Support but no luck. still looking in eBay.  Any idea how can I make or get a new one or make something similar.

Many thanks for any bit of advice

The bubble tubes are the exact same bubble tubes found in Christmas bubble lights. You can carefully harvest the bubble tubes from them. Way cheaper than buying them from train parts dealers. You can order them from the bay or even Amazon.....on the right is a OE Lionel bubble tube. The left is from a a Xmas bulb

I’m not familiar with that kind, don’t know the size of that particular bulb. These are the ones I always have handy at Christmas time, and when the bulb blows, I just carefully start chipping away the plastic from the bottom up to harvest the glass bubble tube....these are C7 type base. ........PatB2F38E3C-EE99-4B7A-ACED-651DE96A00AA
