The Lionel Hellgate Bridges are so beautiful and really big, I have a brand new one in the box from when they were first offered by Lionel, the re-make, but no where to place it. I envy you fellows. NJC JOE, yours are nicely placed, looks so cool, @shorling, Steve, your scene is beautiful and nicely scenicked and looks great to. Great pictures of this iconic bridge that really says, Lionel. I have one I bought when it first came out (98 I believe) and it’s been on every layout since then… and halfway around the world: I was living in Italy back then and dabbling in Maerklin’s MAXI line of trains. Needless to say, the bridge looks just as great with those big, bright and shiny trains as with the O or Standard Gauge. Wish I had room for another!
It gave me several new ideas to elevate (or canoe out) my proposed layout, The bridge does look best when its spanning something...hmhmmhmmhmh back to the drawing board
