Any ideas when this will ship? I am looking forward to it. Glad its small so it won't take up so much room...yet handmade in the USA.

Lionel says Dec...I would not hold my breath.
Still waiting for any news from Nassau Hobby and Trainworld.
Unlike it's older and bigger brother, I don't believe the 6-37195 is being made in the USA. I believe TW Trainworks designed this model, but production is over seas.
"Lionel says Dec"
where do they say that?
It is made in USA. Otherwise China could just model it and make it without input from TW.
i assumed from comments the train dame made the they were being assembled in texas. i wonder what the delay is. overseas production could explain that. i would be disappointed.

Mike,
Here is the link to the original thread. The advertisement says, "Designed and Produced by TW Trainworx of Dallas Texas," of, not in, being the operative word. But the only reference I can find to this piece actually being made in the USA was by you.
I'm willing to make a substantial bet that they are coming from overseas!

LOL very true!
If Roger Farkash was making them in Texas, I believe you would have noticed 3 things:
1. The price point would have been at least double, if not triple.
2. They probably would not have committed to 2,013 pieces.
3. You would have it by now.
Skip:
I believe you are correct. Aren't you glad you got one of the big ones.
Yes indeed Brian. But I did order the small one for my Christmas Layout.
Lionel has dropped the ball big time on this one. Product is made overseas, shipping slow boat, and gonna miss 2013 the anniversary it is suppose to commemorate! Someone should be fired for this!
Why is everyone thinking this is made in China. Clearly says on the Lionel website..."Lionel’s 100th Anniversary Grand Central Terminal will be an individually numbered, limited run of 2013 pieces designed and produced by TW TrainWorx of Dallas, Texas"
Mike,
I appreciate you're enthusiasm and excitement in thinking this is being made in the USA. But I have one question for you. Is it within logical parameters to state: "Lionel's 100th Anniversary Grand Central Terminal is being produced in China by TW Trainworx of Dallas, Texas."
Seriously, wish you were right, but every sign points abroad. And, I bet no one is happy that they appear to be missing the anniversary year. That is a big marketing disaster. But that's also the nature of dealing with overseas production. This would never have happened if it were produced by TW Trainworx in Texas, but it would have had to be a smaller production run at a higher price, similar to the run of their larger GCT's. Anyway, we will see shortly and if you are right, I will buy you a beer!

Attribution needed.
We shall see. But the design is so simple...TW would not need to be involved at all if they weren't also making it. Chinese vendors have the pattern makers available to design the world's finest scale models.
As far as delivery...as long as it arrives in good shape I am happy.
It is very small, and suited for non realistic layouts, and/or for a realistic layout as a visual illusion of distance, i.e. put it on a far corner of the layout, with its smaller size (sheet of paper?) aiding this feat.
Or as a shelf or desk item.
