I have acquired a Lionel #6257, Type 3, SP caboose, circa 1956. This caboose came with bar end trucks and a magnetic tab uncoupler. It was the caboose used in the #1545 44 ton set of 1956 along with a 6424 flatcar, 6014 Baby Ruth boxcar and 6025 black Gulf tank car. My issue is with the caboose. One one side the lettering "Lionel" is under the 3 windows. On the opposite side the lettering "Lionel" is under the single window. Neither the Krause nor Greenberg books list this as a variation. Some forum members on other sites state that it's supposed to be this way. I have six 6257 cabooses and NONE are lettered opposite . Can some one offer any advice?
