My Lionel Acela has always operated perfectly for many years. A visitor knocked a pantograph out of the operating linkage. After resetting linkage and return to operate the complete set I no longer have operational control of anything. Have I destroyed the electronics by shorting something out. This set has always been on my main line with no problems since Lionel first sold it. I wore out 2 sets of tires and I am on my third (replaced by me). Most visitors and fellow train nuts are impressed with a complete Acela trip from departure to arrival using all the vocal features. I really really would like to have this train back in service.   I will appreciate any help or tips from the Forum.   Thank you very much.

On an aside, I wonder if or when Lionel would ever do a re-run of the Acela?  Given that its been 14 years since its 2005 debut, one would think the market could bear a re-issue.  It would give Lionel a chance to iron-out the bugs known from the first run.. & amortize tooling & design costs quite a bit.   Any thought on why they haven't re-done it yet?

Not gonna happen. If you want one. Buy the older one and be prepared to understand its quirks.

I have a full set sitting under the table still. Traction tires took 2 hours to replace.

I just removed this and posted it as its own thread.   Why do you think it will never happen, though?   (maybe you can answer on the new thread to open the discussion there.  Plus, I don't to hijack Wes's post about his Acela problem.
