Please pardon the bad photo. The cars short out going around curves. There is too much side to side play on the pickup roller. So I am open to your suggestions on the best fix for this. I bought several of these at the Lionel Warehouse sale and now I am being told about this issue from the people buying them. So what is your best solution to fix this issue?

Thanks,

Scott Smith

OR

Slip a short length of heat shrink tubing over the same part. It will have to be the thin wall type  in a large enough tube to allow free pressure of the copper on the axle.

Like the heat shrink tube idea, I bought a pile of heat shrink tube in 12" lengths at a flea market. I cut it to fit my installation, slip it in place and heat it with a match.

easy fix!
