Do i treat these trains like conventional. I have not sit one on my track since they are in storage. I know dont go over 18v but can i sit it on the track and turn on mth4000 and just run it with the Lionel remote. Or as said do i have to do like im running conventional

LionChief Plus locos can operate in conventional mode (variable voltage output on an MTH TIU or Z4000) using a switch on the loco, or in command mode (fixed voltage output on an MTH TIU or any other voltage source). In command mode, the control is from the remote included with the LC+ loco, or the universal remote from Lionel. Another option on new LC+ locos is to use Bluetooth for command control, which requires a smart device (phone or tablet) and the free Lionel app (currently only available for Apple iOS, but planned for Android as well).
ok so it will work in command, thanks before i dig deep in the unholy box pile. thanks man

I run a LC+ Pacific on my DCS layout with the voltage fixed at 18V. Runs great.
pretty happy, plus wife will like the Halloween train on layout

Actually the Android version of the app was just released not too long ago. However the throttle response is a bit slow. They're currently working on an update to fix the bug.
